Franklyn Dean Robinson, 82, of Frankclay, died peacefully in the early hours of Veterans Day 2016, as a result of his long battle with COPD. He was lovingly attended to by family in his home at the time of his passing.
Mr. Robinson was born in Frankclay, on October 9, 1934, to the late Mr. Cecil Robinson and the late Mrs. Iva Belle Drummonds. Mr. Robinson served in the United States Army starting in 1956 and attended Southeast Missouri State University as a creative writing major. He was a local small business owner and respected landscape painter and abstract artist, as well as a sculptor. Frank will be remembered for his compassion for others, creativity of mind, and adventurous spirit.
He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years, Mary Katherine Mayes Robinson, two brothers (William Robinson and Lawrence Cole), and one sister (Thelma Mullinix). He is survived by four children, Lynn Robinson of Columbia; Laura Robinson (married to Robert DeHaven) of Atlanta, Georgia; Jedediah Robinson of Frankclay; and Holly Parker (married to Charles Parker) of Richwoods. He also leaves two brothers, Paul Robinson of Frankclay, and Michael Robinson, of Poplar Bluff.
Frank is survived by three grandchildren, whom he cherished, thirteen-year-old Brennen DeHaven and eleven-year-old Mariana DeHaven of Atlanta, Georgia (Laura Robinson and Bob DeHaven); and eight-year-old Jessica Cotton of Columbia (Lynn Robinson and Franklin Cotton).
Following a family viewing at 1:00 pm, a public visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Leadwood on November 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, with Military Honors.
In remembrance and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association or the National Park Foundation.
