Mr. Floyd F. Hager passed away early Monday morning, July 14, 2014, at Community Manor, in Farmington, at the age of 96 years, 11 months & 11 days. Floyd was born on August 3, 1917, in Farmington, and was the son of George Hager, Sr., and Bessie 'Shy' Hager. Preceding in death were his wife, Mary Patricia 'Lukachick' Hager (1999); and 4 brothers - George Hager, Jr., Robert Hager; Roy Hager & Harley Hager.

Floyd graduated in 1935 from Esther High School & graduated the Univ. of Missouri, Columbia, with a Bachelor's, then Master's Degree. Floyd served in the US Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II & served in the Air Force Reserves for 20 years, achieving the rank of Lt. Col. Floyd married Mary Patricia Lukachick on Sept. 5, 1942. Floyd was the Vocational Agriculture Teacher @ Farmington Sr. High School from 1954-76. He was a member & past-president of the Missouri Vocational Agricultural Teacher's Assoc. Floyd was a Deacon and member of Farmington First Baptist Church, since 1954. Floyd served on the Farmington City Council and then as mayor, starting in 1973, and then won 2 subsequent elections for Mayor in 1975 and 1977. Floyd was an active member of Farmington Kiwanis Club. Floyd was involved with the founding of "Meals on Wheels" & the Farmington Senior Center. He was active on the St. Francois County Fair Board & a former member of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. Floyd served on the Missouri Patient Care Review Board, the Silver Haired Legislature, the Area Council on Aging & Missouri State Retired Teacher's Assoc. Floyd was a dedicated athlete & an avid golfer, runner & Senior Olympian. In later years, he became a beloved dancer.

Survivors Include 3 daughters: Patricia Karathanos, of Cape Girardeau; Barbara (& Mickey) Gage, of Jefferson City; Mary Ann (& Craig) Waring, of Pensacola, FL. 2 sons - Don (& Debbie) Hager, of Farmington; David (& Linda) Hager, of Columbus, OH. 3 sisters - Helen Landolt, of Ohio; Ruby Odgers, of Farmington; Dorothy (& John) Boyd, of Ohio. 1 brother - Willard (& Mary) Hager, of Farmington. Also, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Visitation Resumes : Friday, 9:00 a.m. @ Farmington First Baptist Church - 210 No. 'A' St. - Farmington

Funeral : Friday, 10:00 a.m., July 18, 2014

at : Farmington First Baptist Church, with Dr. William C. Miller officiating
