Firmin Harold Newcomer, age 84 of Bonne Terre passed away February 20, 2012 at his residence.Hewas born August 7, 1927 to the late Harry and Mable (Strong) Newcomer. He was also preceded in death by a Great-Grandson, Andrew Fresia; sister, Mildred Fryman.



Firmin was a Merchant Marine during the WW II Era, after the war Firmin returned to Bonne Terre to work at the local post office. After a couple years at the post office he went to work for Valle Dolomite, working a total of 35 years, and retiring as General Manager.Firmin loved to work on the Primrose farm with his cattle. Firmin and his wife Shirley of 64 years, enjoyed traveling together and spending time with friends and family.His favorite past time was to spend the hours sitting on the front porch with Shirley and watching the sun set. Firmin was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Firmin is survived by his wife, Shirley (Meyer) Newcomer; Children, Judy Whitley and husband Steve of Ellsville, MO, Janice Vines and husband Gary of Monument, Colorado, Jane Kluntenkamper and husband Larry of Lake St. Louis, and Jill Newcomer and husband Jeff Jeude of Bonne Terre; Eight Grandchildren, Kevin Vines, Kyle Vines, Stephanie and husband Chris Cooper, Ryan Whitley, Brady Newcomer, Aimee and husband Dave Fresia, Dr. Andy Newcomer and husband Drew Hodgson, and Amanda Mitchell; five Great-Grandchildren, Amelia and Afton Cooper, Tony, Olivia and June FresiaVisitation will be Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5 to 9 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.Visitation will resume Saturday at 9 am until time of service at 11am at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bonne Terre with Michael Kelpe officiating. Interment will be at the St. Francois Memorial Park.Memorials are requested to the Centenary United Methodist Church.
