Ethel Marie Hopkins

Ethel Marie Hopkins, age 90, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Camelot Nursing Facility. Ethel was born on Thursday, March 1, 1934, to the late Harry Edgar and Kathryn “Flesch” Wann, Sr. She was a member of the Pendleton United Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

 Ethel devoted many years of her life to her vocation as a cook for the Farmington School District. She found joy in serving others, and her vibrant spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Most importantly was her love for her grandchildren; they were a constant source of joy and pride in her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.

 In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles M. “Jack” Hopkins; son in-infancy, Charles David Hopkins; brother, Harry Wann, Jr. and wife Wilma. 

 Ethel is survived by her two daughters, Donna Nelson and husband David; Connie Young and husband Scott; three grandchildren, Raven Winters, Sara Young and Sadie Young; along with several nieces, nephews, friends and family members. 

 Visitation will be held at Pendleton United Baptist Church in Doe Run on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Doug Tucker officiating. Burial to follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery in Doe Run.

 Memorials may be made in memory of Ethel to Pendleton United Baptist Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
