Ernest Pete Griffin

Ernest "Pete" Griffin, 73, of Bonne Terre passed away September 16, 2012 at his daughters residence. He was born January 31, 1939 in Settle Town to the late Walter and Mary (Nash) Griffin ?? Pratte. Also preceding in death is his wife Mary (McCord) Griffin; a son, Ricky Edward Griffin; sisters, Bessie Borchers, Norma Pettus, Mable Zimmerman, Connie Sue Brewer, Rita Johnson and Carol Christenson; brothers, James Griffin, Gene Griffin and Denzel Wilson. Pete was a retiree with the Ste Genevieve County Sheriffs Dept. He loved to go horseback riding, fish and hunt.Pete is survived by three sons, Ernest Lee Griffin Jr. of Texas, Hardy Allen Griffin of Jefferson City, Henry "Jimmy" and wife Kim Griffin of Valles Mines; one daughter Mary and husband Scott Lord of Bonne Terre; grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Griffin, Kyle and Kayla Lord; brothers and sisters, Rosemary Neel, Herb and wife Joyce Griffin, Larry and wife Linda Griffin, Vernon and wife Mary Griffin, Wayne Pratte, Joe Pratte, Nancy and husband Mark Mabery, David and wife Lori Pratte, Peggy and husband Leon Briley; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Wednesday September 19, 2012 from 5 to 9 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday September 20, 2012 at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre. Interment will follow at the Little Vine Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital.
