Mrs. Eleanor J. Ford passed away Sunday morning, December 29, 2013, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center, in Farmington, at the age of 91 years, 6 months & 28 days. Eleanor was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on May 31, 1922, and was the daughter of James Edward Taylor and Dorthea 'Walker' Taylor. Also preceding-in-death were her husband, Herbert S. Ford, Jr., (2011), and a sister, Louise Kennedy.
Mrs. Ford was a homemaker and very involved in her community. She was a member of the Questers, Cadwalader of Kent Chapter, and the Green Fingers Garden Club for over 50 years, and the Shewsbury Episcopal Church where she enjoyed serving on their Alter Guild. Mrs. Ford was also a member of the Kent County Farm Bureau and the Chesterville Planning Group.
Mrs. Ford loved her family and loved to laugh and have a good time. She enjoyed sewing and needle point and she also enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors Include : a daughter, Shelley Hartman, of Farmington; a son, Herbert "Bert" (& Dawn) Ford, III, of Kennedyville, Maryland; Grandchildren: Christopher Hartman, of Farmington; Paul Ford, of Atlanta, GA; Elizabeth Hartman, of Farmington; and Brent Ford, of Kennedyville, Maryland, as well as 1 Great-Granddauhter: Alaina Caroline Hartman, of Farmington, and 1 sister, Mary Alice Tracey, of New Oxford, Pennsylvania.
Visitation Starts : Saturday, 11:00 a.m., Jan. 4th @ Shrewsbury Episcopal Church Parish Hall, Kennedyville, MD
Funeral : Saturday, 12 Noon, at the Shrewsbury Episcopal Church
