Elba Wilmazo Oliver was born onMay 10, 1924 at East Bonne Terre, Missouri to Willie W. and Alice S.(Ashbridge) Politte. She attended school at Bonne Terre until eighth grade andlater graduated from Fargo High School. On August 6, 1942 Elba was united inmarriage to Dale A. McQuiston at St. Louis, Missouri. To this union twodaughters were born: Dale Alice and Sandra Lee. After their marriage, sheworked in a defense plant, a sewing machine company, laundry and drugstore inseveral different cities as her husband served in the military service. Elbawas then married to Lloyd W. Oliver on February 6, 1948 at Pevely, Missouri.Five children were born to this union: Phillip Ray, Kenneth Kay, Kelly Jay,Michael Day and Robin Faye. She lived in ten different states before coming toOklahoma for the first time in 1948. In her early years she belonged to theNorthwest Work and Play Extension Club, was a Scout Den Mother, and the WomensFire Artillery. Elba spent around 10 years at the Van Dorn place, 23 years atthe Oliver place, and resided at Edmond, Ok with Robin for 10 years. Whileliving in Oklahoma she worked at a hospital and cared for several elderlypeople for many years. She opened her home to 17 foster children. Elba enjoyedthe duties of a mother and a wife and always found time for her family. Sheliked to do crocheting, knitting and taking pictures of her family. She alwaysmade sure you were greeted and left with a hug and a kiss.Elbawas a member of the Ft. Supply Methodist Church where she helped with bibleschool and anywhere she was needed. She will be remembered as one who lovedpeople and found great enjoyment in her family and friends.Elba ispreceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Dale Alice McQuiston and oneson, Kelly Jay Oliver, five brothers, Thomas (Jack) Politte, William Politte,Floyd Politte, James Romine, and Virgil Romine, and one sister Margaret Seel.She is survived by her children, Mike and Sandy Abbott of Fargo, Phillip andDawn Oliver of Woodward, Kenneth and Kay Oliver of Fort Supply, Michael andAdela Oliver of Oklahoma City, Robin Maphet & Mindy Luster of Edmond, Timand Donna Meyer of Molokai, Tony and Wanda Diorec of Molokai, twenty-twograndchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren,Mary and Ralph Pittman of May, Diane Oliver of Woodward, lots of nieces andnephews, many relatives, and countless friends.Visitation will be Sunday, September29, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 PM at the C.
