Edward "Bruce" Black

Edward ‘Bruce’ Black, 68, of Bonne Terre, MO passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Saturday, June 25, 1955, to the late Glenwood Edward and Frances (Paul) Black. 

In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his sister Willa (Black) Wood and his brother Paul Black. 

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Dorene (Vernon) Black; adoring children, Aaron (Ashley) Black and Alec Black; grandchildren, Jett and Ronyn Black; siblings, William (Caren) Black and Mary (Gary) Pruett along with many nieces, nephews, family and so many friends. 

Known for his love of golf, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends- particularly near the water- he lived his life to the fullest. He worked hard, played hard and loved harder. 
 
Bruce cherished his hobbies and truly embraced the joys of life. His passion for craftsmanship in woodworking and his enthusiasm for golf (and a nice glass of whiskey) he brought light and happiness to those around him. His time spent out on his boat was always filled with laughter and relaxation.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, May 18, 2024 at The Terre Du Lac Country Club at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
