Edna Mae Bess

Edna Mae Bess, 88, of Bonne Terre passed away March 4, 2015. She was born April 18, 1926 in Cadet, MO to the late David and Ruth (Boyer) Govero. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan "Buck" Bess; three sisters, Margaret Williams, Mary Davis and Agnes McMillan. Edna was a member of the Bonne Terre Church of God. She worked at the Bonne Terre Hospital as a nurse and later at local nursing homes. Edna is survived by three children, Ronald Bess and wife Peggy, Debbie Crocker and husband Carl, Clarence "Pope" Bess and wife Kim; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Williams, Jason (fiancé Alicia) Redmond, Derek (Summer) Bess, Danielle (Jeff) Crader, Ronnie (Karen) Bess, Jr., Jonathan Bess; twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Bonne Terre Church of God. Service will be Saturday at 11:30 AM at the Bonne Terre Church of God with Pastor Steve Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bonne Terre Church of God, Serenity Hospice or the National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
