Ed Plunkett

Edward "Ed" Dean Plunkett, age 67, of Bonne Terre, passed away April 4, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on July 14, 1956, to the late Littleton James and Ethel Marie (Folden) Plunkett, Jr.  

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dana Sue (Allen) Plunkett.

 Ed worked as a research analyst with Monsanto/Bayer and was a member of the St. Francois Republican Party. Ed enjoyed farming, treasure finding and just being outdoors.  He also enjoyed tending to his 3-acre garden and donating the fruits of his labor. He was known for his generous and kind heart. What brought Ed the most joy was spending time with his family. 

Ed is survived by his children, Tami (Dale) Mason, Kyle Plunkett; grandchildren, Trevor (Savannah) Mason, Devon (Grace) Mason, Evelyn Plunkett; great-granddaughter, Jovie; siblings, Mic (Judy) Plunkett and children, Jacob (Holly) and Lucas, Lisa (Zach) Ledbetter and daughter, Cayley, Jim (Debbie) Plunkett, Kathy (Bruce) Hass along with several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM with Reverend Stanley Payne officiating.  Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery in Bonne Terre.   Memorials may be directed to the Mayo Clinic c/o David M. Routman Research.
