E. Fern Labus

             E. Fern Labus, 99, of Terre Du Lac passed away July 3, 2017 at Camelot Nursing and Rehab in Farmington. She was born May 10, 1918 in Vineland, MO. Fern was a member of the First Congregational Church of Bonne Terre and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her friends in Terre Du Lac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Tillman and Mattie Charlotte (Hearst) Politte; first husband, Roy Scheuermann; second husband, Jake York; grandson, Thomas Kater.

Fern is survived by her husband, Emerick “Tex” Labus of Farmington; daughter, Charlotte Arcand of Terre Du Lac; two grandchildren, Sharon St. Gemme of Bonne Terre and David Kater and wife Tina of Desloge; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Kater, Landon Kater, Mackenzie St. Gemme and Kristine St. Gemme; special cousin, Sharon (Politte) Cole and husband Ron of Fenton.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Rev. Lansford Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
