Dwane “Dink” DeGrant, age 82, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his residence in Farmington. Dink was born on Saturday, July 12, 1941, in Rivermines, MO to the late Vernon “Dink” and Almenia Mae (Campbell) DeGrant. Dink proudly served his country in the United States Navy
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Ann (Pinkston) DeGrant and brother-in-law, Ron Wood.
Dink worked in construction with many companies in the area as well as a welder for McDonell Douglas and with Anheuser Busch. He was proud of his country and after serving he went on to serve his community as a Mason and did a lot of volunteer work and later serve as Post Commander of Post 2426, State of Missouri and All-American VFW Commander. When he could, he would go fishing and compete in many fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed being out in the woods hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughter; Julie Bollinger; two grandchildren, Bailee Daws (Hayden) and Brock Bollinger (fiancé Lexy Figge); great-grandchildren, Thomas Daws and Emma Bebo; sisters, Darlene (Mick) Coleman and Delaine Wood; lifelong friend for over 70 years Jimmy Prather; dear friend Joe Misuraca, along with other friends and family.
Visitation will be held at C.Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM until the time of Masonic and VFW services at 5:00 PM. The family will have a private inurnment at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington at a later date. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 2426 in Dink’s honor.
