Dorothy E. Whitworth-White, 85, of Potosi passed away July 14, 2016. She was born September 15, 1930 in Bonne Terre. She was a member of the Happy Grove Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Franklin “Minch” and Lenora Bell (Weir) Pierce; Infant son, Victor Samuel Whitworth; first husband, Raymond Whitworth; second husband, Rev. Walter White; great-granddaughter, Neveah Rae Aldridge; brothers, Samuel Pierce, William Pierce, Glenn Pierce and Lloyd Pierce; sisters, Anna Pierce, Kathryn Skaggs, Mildred Moss and Barbara Fowler; brother-in-law, Victor White.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Lloyd Edward Whitworth and wife Edna, Vickie Kean and husband Lynn, Charles Lee Whitworth; foster son, Lindell Wayne Stegall and wife Debbie; two sisters, Myrtle Conway and husband Bob and Carmel White; grandchildren, Greg Ketcherside and wife Samantha, George Whitworth and wife Tina, Misty French and husband Tony, Breanne Kean/Jackie Revelle, Krissie Lashley and husband Dan, Tonya Parmley and husband Steve, and Lynn Kean Jr.; great-grandchildren, Easton Ketcherside, Aiden Ketcherside, Heaven and husband Justin Cook, Kris Aldridge, Destanie Eise, Lillian Kean, Kenneth Whitworth, Elijah French, Trevor and wife Mykayla Kean, Justin Lashley, Miranda Lashley, Kelsi Parmley, Alexis Parmley, Nathaniel Parmley; great-great grandchildren, Brighton Cook, Brantley Cook, Mariah Eise, Alexander Eise, Natashia Storm Eise, Ali Aldridge, Mason Aldridge, Aubrianna Kean, and Addlyyn Kean; very special niece, Charolette Faye Brown and husband Leroy; very special nephews, Micheal, Cody, and Kyle and wife Kelly Pierce; loving and caring caregiver, Mary Robin Bourbon; many other family and friends.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and to serving God.  She enjoyed going on trips to South Carolina to visit her son, Lindell Stegall and wife Debbie, and made several trips to visit them.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, and attending church services.  She was always ready and available to help anyone in need.  She was a very loving, caring, and giving person.

Dorothy was a member of the Happy Grove Church of God for well over 50 years.  She loved her church and her church family.  She served as the church clerk there for many years and received many rewards and certificates of honor.  She was a Sunday School teacher for several years and enjoyed teaching the youth about the Lord and the Word of God.  She enjoyed life, and her children and grandchildren were her whole world as she was their whole world.  During her battle with Alzheimer’s, her children devoted their time caring for her, as she had devoted her time caring for them throughout their lives.  She will be greatly missed and deeply loved.  Special thanks to Serenity Hospice for your love and support, and to the Washington County Ambulance District for their love and care.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.  Service will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre, conducted by Rev. Ronnie Dane. Interment will follow at Germania Cemetery.
