Dorothy Rochelle James, known to her loved ones as Rustee, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, just two days shy of her 62nd birthday. Born on Saturday, November 17, 1962, in Festus, MO, to the late Donald Earl and Nona Marie (Tullock) James.
Rustee cherished her passion for art, finding solace and joy in creating beautiful paper crafts, intricate drawings, and intricate paper mâché installations. Her artistic talents were not just a personal pursuit but a means of connection and generosity, as she delighted in giving her creations to friends and loved ones. Rustee believed deeply in the power of friendship, viewing it as the cornerstone of love and happiness.
Throughout her life, Rustee remained a beacon of optimism and resilience, often imparting her motto that belief was the key to achieving one's dreams. Her unwavering positivity inspired all who knew her, leaving a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to call her friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Fredrick James.
Rustee is survived by her loving son, Cameron (Olivia Ragan) Major; step-sons, Aaron and Ian Major; life partner, Jack Nunez; special friends, Phillip (Yuiko) Major; her devoted sisters, Leona (Lawrence) Fulton and April Sandoval, as well as her cherished nephews and niece, Nick Fulton, Isiah Fulton, and Rose Edwards; Brenda and Sherry @ DaVata Crystal City Dialysis Center, along with many friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
