Dorothy Rouggly

            Dorothy Rouggly, 85, of Bonne Terre, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She was born July 25, 1931 in St. Louis, to the late Charles and Edna Eletha (Wyman) Seals, Sr. Dorothy was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Bonne Terre and VFW Aux 6883. She was active with Girl Scouts for a number of years as past District Chairman and past member of the Democratic Central Committee. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Major Charles “Jack” Seals, Jr.; and one sister, Myrtle Pearson. 

            Dorothy is survived by her husband of 70 loving years, Homer Lee Rouggly; five children, Ron Rouggly and wife Nancy, Steven Rouggly and wife Lucina, James Rouggly, Sr. and wife Susan, Kathy (Mrs. Brian) Brewen, and Jayne (Mrs. Jamie) Bess; 9 grandchildren, Bill Harrel, Jennifer (Darrell) Biri, Jim (Stephanie) Rouggly, Alex (Melanie) Rouggly, Melanie Rouggly, Colleen (Dr. Andrew) Nickless, Amanda (Travis) Brooks, Bradley Bess, and Whitney Bess; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeannette (Jack) Schneider.           

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Charles Henrickson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bonne Terre.
