Dorothy Reed

Dorothy P. Reed, 91, of Viburnum, Missouri passed away December 30, 2017 at Stonecrest Healthcare Nursing Home.  She was born on May 29, 1926 in Owl Creek, Missouri to the late William and Mabel (French) Boland.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Wilson Reed; sister, Ida Avergenis; brothers, Jesse Boland and William Boland.

 Dorothy attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Viburnum and was a member of the Eastern Star and Garden Club. She helped organize cub scouts and served as a den mother for over 20 years. Dorothy will also be remembered as a lunch room supervisor in Viburnum Public School.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Wilson and wife Mary Reed, William and wife Lesa Reed, and Dwight and wife Kimberly Reed; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11am until service time at 1 pm in the Desloge Chapel of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Homes with Rev. Evan Bell officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Park Hills.
