Doris Swindle

Doris Evelyn Swindle, 95, of Bonne Terre, passed away peacefully, November 25, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington. She was born March 13, 1929, in St. Louis, to the late Homer and Gladys (Reeves) Gray. Doris devoted her life to Christ and was active member at Little Vine Baptist Church in Ste. Genevieve. She loved supporting her husband, children and entire family. In her younger days, she enjoyed embroidering, making crafts and crocheting. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dr. Don Swindle; infant daughter, Connie Swindle; great-granddaughter, Mikayla Ann Sherrill; and one brother, James Gray.

Doris is survived by three children, Judy Sherrill and husband David, Don Michael Swindle and wife Paulette, Tammie Lynn Deschler and husband Jim; six grandchildren, Matthew Sherrill and wife Sharon, Andrew Sherrill, Paul Sherrill and wife Sara, Michelle Schnarre and husband Brian, Jamie Haberbeger and husband Joe, Clay Deschler and wife Laura; fifteen great-grandchildren along with other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 9:00 AM until the service time of 10:30 AM. Pastor Kennard Mayfield will be officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be directed to Little Vine Baptist Church or Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
