Doris E. Blunt

Doris Blunt, 82 of Desloge, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Festus.She was born May 11, 1930 in Belgrade, to the late Claud Otto and Nora (Akers) Huitt.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5741 in Leadington.She also served as the Assistant Chaplin of the VFW Post. She was preceded in death by husband, Amos F. Blunt; and one son Gerald Wayne Blunt; two sisters, Christine Hudson and Helen Richards. Doris is survived by two sons, Jeff Blunt and wife Deidre of Desloge, and Roger Blunt of St. Louis; two grandsons, Tyler and Taylor Blunt; great-grandson, Joshua Williams; sisters, Maydean Johnson of Barnhart and Mary Wells of Bismarck; brothers, Andy Huitt of Doe Run and Wayne Huitt of Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home of Desloge, Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating.Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
