Donald "Tank" Ray Sutton, Sr.

          Don “Tank” Sutton, 67, of Bonne Terre, passed away November 25, 2020, at Mercy South in St. Louis. He was born July 25, 1953, in Bonne Terre, to the late Clinton Charles and Edna Aileen (Dillard) Sutton, Sr. Don is a member of the First Church of God in Gumbo and he drove a truck which warrants his nickname as “Tank.” He loved to build birdhouses and benches and spending time with his family.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby Gene, Jerry Lee, and Lonnie Dale Sutton; daughter in-law, Krista Lynn Sutton.

          Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, 9 months, and 12 Days, Barbara (Metcalf) Sutton, who truly adored him; two sons Glen Sutton, Don Sutton and wife Julie; five grandchildren, Amber Rhoden, Levi (Anna) Sutton, Christopher (Abrie) Sutton, Jacob Sutton, and Cody Sutton; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Rhoden, Falyn Rhoden, Remington Rhoden, Oaklee Rhoden, Sophie Sitton, Aria Sutton, Aden Sutton and Madelyn Sutton; one sister, Sue (Ralph) Shelton; three brothers, Roger Sutton, Richard (Jamie) Sutton, Clinton (Nina) Sutton; one sister in-law, Dana Sutton; many nieces, nephews, church friends and family friends also survive.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Dale Sutton and Tony Hampton, will be officiating. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry in Desloge.
