Donald Paul Pinkston, 75, of Bonne Terre passed away June 8, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 2, 1942 in St. Louis to the late Clyde Arthur and Lucille (Smith) Pinkston. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Kawishiwi and USS Hassayampa. He was a lifetime member and past Commander (2004-2005) of VFW Post 6883 of Bonne Terre, lifetime member of the AMVETS and American Legion Post #83, member of the former Desloge Eagles. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years and was a member of the UAW #136. Donald enjoyed hunting, car restoration, wood working and spending time in his garage. He loved spending quality time with his family and hunting with family and friends out west. He also loved his dogs, Dixie and Dusty.
Donald is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Teschke) Pinkston; two children, Rhonda Kemper and husband Derrick and Donald Scott Pinkston and wife Karri; two grandchildren, Jared Kemper and wife Emily and Cody Kemper; great-granddaughter, Orah Lynn Kemper; two brothers, Ralph Pinkston and wife Pat and Gary Pinkston and wife Carlotta. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Parkland Health Center Oncology and to Safe Harbor Hospice.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be Monday at 1:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Safe Harbor Hospice.
