Donald L. Lahay

Donald LaHay, 68 of Newport, North Carolina, passed away November 22, 2012. He was born August 5, 1944 in Elvins. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years.He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lorene (Kinnard) LaHay; stepsons Roy, Mike, and Kieth James; brother Roger Kinnard.Donald is survived by his wife Ella Gean (Thornton) LaHay; stepchildren Tamara Hormann (Charles) of Memphis, TN, Steven James (Hilary) of Burke, VA, John James of Newport, NC, Scott James of Wallace, NC, Paul James (Rebecca) of Greenville, NC, and Shara Lynch (John) of Atlanta, GA; 18 grandchildren; sister Shirley Goforth and brother David LaHay (Judy).Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills. Service will be Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills with Rev. Mike Barton officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
