Don Nowak

Donald “Don” William Nowak, age 85, of Terre Du Lac, passed away July 7, 2020, at Parkland Hospital in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Don was born December 5, 1934, to the late George and Dorothy (Pelzl) Nowak in East St. Louis, Illinois. Don was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member out of Cahokia. Don loved spending time with his family, enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together and golf. Don proudly served his country in The United States Airforce and retired after 37 years with Ameren.

 

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Nowak; son, Michael Nowak; grandson, Keith Pahlmann; sister, Diana Harris and husband Carl.

Don is survived by his wife Diane (Byerley) Nowak; children, Kimberly Pahlmann and Charles Drake; seven grandchildren, Donald Nowak and fiance Mandi, Amanda Pinkley and husband Ryan, David Nowak, Bethany Hanson and husband David, Deanna Pahlmann, Mackenzie Drake, and Hunter Drake; five great-grandchildren, Camden Hanson, Blake Hanson, Abbey Hanson, Caden Meier, Maci Meier and two babies on the way, Baby Pinkley and Baby Hanson; brother, Thomas Nowak and wife Mary and many others.

 

 There will be a visitation Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 1 pm until Prayer service time of 2:45 pm at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home Bonne Terre Chapel with Father John Schneider officiating. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Bonne Terre Food Pantry, or Food for the Poor.
