Dennis K. “Denny” Thomure, 77, of Ste. Genevieve passed away April 30, 2024. He was born February 13, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to the late Melvin Thomure and Virgie (Boland) Brown. Denny proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Pine Log Baptist Church. Denny worked in the facilities maintenance department at Parkland Hospital for many years. He enjoyed hunting, working on his farm, refurbishing old tractors and even racing VW Beetles in his younger years. He will always be remembered by his Parkland friends as Santa Claus and the Barbecue Master for every hospital event. He could fix anything, never met a stranger, and will be remembered as a good friend to his neighbors and the best father in the world to his family.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Tom Brown; younger brother, Larry Thomure; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Haims.
Denny is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Rodgers) Thomure; two children, Dale Thomure and wife Sarah, Emily Coleman and husband Joe; three grandchildren, Brittany (Devin) Carriere, Darren Coleman, and Tessa Coleman; four great-grandchildren, Paycen, Brantley, Bristol Ray, and Michael; two step-sisters, Debbie (Craig) Huhmann and Marcia Jean Haims; and loving canine companion, Ralph.
Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Tim Mattingly officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at Hillview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Missouri National Veterans Memorial in Perryville, MO.Friday, May 3, 2024
