Dawn Laverne Joyce

Dawn L. Joyce, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and daughter of God, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the age of 82, at Parkland Hospital South, in Farmington, Missouri. She was born on Tuesday, February 10, 1942, to the late Charles Ringer and Bessie (Ames) Ringer/Usher in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Dawn was a member of the Silver Springs Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, Missouri. 

Dawn was preceded in death by her late parents; a son, Charles Joyce; two sisters, Glenda Ramsey, and Alberta Isgrigg.

Dawn touched the lives of many with her kind and generous spirit. Throughout her life, Dawn shared her passions for God, music, and cooking with those around her. She showcased her musical talents by playing the piano, various instruments, singing, and performing alongside her sister Alberta on a weekly radio station in Potosi in her earlier days. In her later years Dawn enjoyed playing the piano for her church. Dawn was renowned for her culinary talents, with her pies and chicken and dumplings being cherished favorites among family and friends. Her delicious creations brought joy to countless gatherings and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.

Dawn's strong faith and unwavering love for God served as a guiding light in her life and endeared her to those who knew her. Her devotion was evident in the love and kindness she showed to everyone she encountered.
 

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John E. Joyce; a son, John T. Joyce; two daughters, Michelle Joyce and Eva Goss; two grandchildren, Cory (Amanda) Joyce and Kaylee Culwell (Zain); two great-grandchildren, Connor and Alister Joyce; and many special nieces, nephews, and family members that were close to Dawn’s heart. 

 

A visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Missouri on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. until service time of 1:00 P.M. Pastor Roy Kaylor will be officiating. Burial will follow at Germania Cemetery in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
