David Vernon McFarland, 73, of Desloge, passed away September 27, 2022 at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born August 23, 1949 to Amos and Betty (Fleming) McFarland. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a salesman with Fabick Cat in Fenton for 28 years. Dave was a member of Mineral Area Elks #2583. He was a diehard cardinal fan and also enjoyed Mizzou football and basketball. He was of Baptist faith. Dave was a heart transplant recipient and always said that God gave him 25 years that he would not have had.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos McFarland and one brother, Mike McFarland.
Dave is survived by his wife, Donna (Simino) McFarland; two sons, Scott McFarland and wife Lanie, Chris McFarland and wife Heather; three grandchildren, Becca (Zack) Deason, Hannah McFarland, Paige McFarland; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Chloe Deason; three brothers, Danny (Mary) McFarland, Terry McFarland, Bruce McFarland; two sisters-in-law, Beth McFarland and Paula Wisdom. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Visitation will resume at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 1 until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev. Lanny McFarland officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
