Mr. Darrel Lawrence Ragsdale passed away Sunday afternoon, August 8, 2010, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 90 years, 10 months & 24 days. Darrel was born on September 9, 1914, in Flat River and was the son of Lawrence William Ragsdale and Retta 'Hahn' Ragsdale. Also preceding in death were: his wife, Dorothy Kathryn 'Hill' Ragsdale (1991), a son, Randall L. "Randy" Ragsdale (March 26, 2010); a sister, Virginia Rider; a brother, Leeman "Mutt" Ragsdale and a brother-in-law, Glen Presnell.

Darrel was a longtime, faithful member, Deacon and Charter Member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church of Park Hills. Darrel proudly served his country in the US Marines Corps during WWII and The Korean War. He served in the United States, as well as 33 months overseas at: New Zealand; Tarawa; Gilbert Island; Okinawa; Ryukyu Islands; Hawaii and Japan. Darrel was a retired US Federal Mine Inspector. Darrel was a 32nd Degree Mason. Darrel was a member of the Farmington V.F.W. & American Legion.

Survivors Include : 3 Sons - Ken (& Sheila) Ragsdale, of Festus; Bill (& Rosemary) Ragsdale, of Farmington; Rick (& Sherry) Ragsdale, of Farmington. A Daughter-In-Law: Linda 'Hufford' Ragsdale, of Farmington. 3 Sisters: Leona Presnell; Berniece Dodd & Ruth 'Mrs. Jim' Goad, all of Park Hills. 1 Brother: Elwood "Knot" (& Wanda) Ragsdale, of Park Hills. A Brother-In-Law: Willard Rider, of Festus. A Sister-In-Law: Lorene Ragsdale, of Park Hills. 7 Grandchildren: Scott Ragsdale; Troy (& Jennifer) Ragsdale; Brian (& Jenna) Ragsdale; Tara (& Travis) Trolinger; Heather Ragsdale; Holly (& Alexei) MaKarkin; Christy (& Dan) Hempen. Also surviving are 8 Great-Grandchildren; numerous Nieces; Nephews & Cousins.

Visitation : Tuesday, 5-9 p.m. Visitation resumes Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington.

Funeral : Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., August 11, 2010

at : Park Hill Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church (601 Buckley Street - Park Hills, MO. 63601), with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.

Interment with Full Military Honors and Patriot Guard Rider escort to : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington.
