Daniel "Desperado" Lynn Mathenia, Sr.

Mr. Daniel Lynn "DESPERADO" Mathenia, Sr., passed away Friday evening, April 6, 2012, at John Cochran VA Medical Center, St. Louis, MO., at the age of 60 years, 7 months & 24 days. Dan was born on August 12, 1951, at West Point, New York, & was the son of G. L. Mathenia & Imogene 'Smith' Mathenia. Also preceding-in-death were: 2 Sisters: Lucinda Mathenia & Darlene Allen & 2 Brothers: Waldo Mathenia & James Mathenia.

"Desperado" was a US ARMY Veteran of Viet Nam, serving from 1969-1978. Dan was also a member The Rose of Sharon Full Gospel Temple of DeSoto, MO. Dan was a member of the LePere-McCallister American Legion Post #416 of Farmington and the LeadBelt Patriot Guard Riders.

Survivors Include: his wife, Judy Elaine 'Mayfield' Littrell-Mathenia, of Bonne Terre. 2 Daughters: Stacy (& Chris) Waldmann, of Rolla, MO & Carrie (& Chuck) Sipp, of Park Hills. Step-Daughter: Kathryn (& Darrick) Thebeau, of Bonne Terre. 4 Sons: Daniel Lynn (& Jennifer) Mathenia, Jr., of Park Hills; Bob Mathenia, of Washington state; Ricky (& Brandi) Mathenia, of Oregon; Danny (& Amanda) Mathenia, of Oregon. 2 Step-Sons: Wesley (& Jennifer) Littrell, of Bourbon, MO; Amos (& Tracy) Littrell, of Bonne Terre. 6 Sisters: Sherry (& Allan) Brickner, of Illinois; Linda Birmingham, of Alabama; Mary (& Bryan) Duke, of Tennessee; Joyce (& Chad) Tlenske, of Illlinois; Tina Westbrook, of Illinois; Rose Spencer, of Florida. 3 Brothers: Paul (& Peggy) Mathenia, of Iowa; Mark (& Claudia) Mathenia, of Illinois; Jerry Mathenia, of Kentucky. Also surviving are 29 Grandchildren; numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Visitation Starts - Wednesday @ 10:00 a.m.

Funeral : Wednesday, 12 Noon

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Carl McKalip officiating.

Interment with Full Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County. LeadBelt Patriot Guard Riders will lead the funeral procession to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
