Dale Halter, age 76 of Bonne Terre, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. He was born December 12, 1937 in Elvins and later served his country in The United States Army. Dale married the love of his life Judith Halter and was married for 51 years. Dale first worked in Missouri as a weight inspector on the Oklahoma Turn Pike for the Highway Patrol, but later worked for the Union Pacific Railroad at the DeSoto Car Shop and retired after 43 years. Dale helped our community in many ways from delivering meals for the Park Hills Senior Center for over 15 years, and volunteered at Desloge First Baptist Church FMC (Family Ministry Center), where he and Judith were members for several years.Dale is preceded in death by parents, Emil and Suzie (Keay) Halter; brother, Durwood Halter; and sisters, Rena McFarland, Lela Price, and Dorothy Abbott.Dale is survived by wife, Judith (Gregory) Halter; two children, David John Halter and wife Cindy, and Melody Sue Halter both of Farmington; three grandchildren, Jacob Halter of St. Louis, Austin Miner, and Kirsten Stevens both of Farmington; brother, Delano Halter and wife Pat of Park Hills; sisters, Bernice Pettus of Bonne Terre and Willa Arnold of Colorado; also of the home, Debra Kay (Lindsey) Mrs. Wayne Rogers, their children, Lacey Ruble of Boliver and Lindsey Ruble of Bonne Terre. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials to be sent to Park Hills Senior Center or Desloge First Baptist Church FMC.
