Cleta Opal (Blankenship) Roney, 89, of Leadwood, was born Aug. 16, 1924 in Dixon, Mo. and entered into the presence of the Lord this 18th day of July, 2014. Proceeding her in death were her parents; James Monroe and Laura Elizabeth (Dake) Blankenship; her husband, James Lawrence Roney; a brother, Arthur Blankenship; and a sister, Erdie Jane (Blankenship) Cooper. She lived a blessed, happy, healthy life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Roney was retired from Parkland Medical Center (Community Hospital). She will be dearly missed by her 6 sons, Jimmy Roney, Arthur (& Merry) Roney, Donald Roney, John Frank (& Rhonda) Roney, Darren Roney, Dennis Roney (& Kellie O'Keefe); 8 daughters, Sharon Roney, Karen Roney, Cleta (& Leslie) Cash, Katherine (& Danny) Horton, Joan Brewer, Kerry (& David) Glore, Shirley (& Danny) Peoples, Mary Roney; grandchildren, Justin Roney, Erik Roney, Sarah Roney (& Clinton Moore), Jessika Roney, Jeannie (& Greg) Northrup, Janice Holland, Randy Cash, Kelly Cash, David Horton, Chris (& Lori) Horton, John (& Paula) Roney, Ashlee Roney, Joey Brewer, Tom Glore, Lucas Peoples, Jacob Peoples, Dakota Peoples, Cameron Roney, Kylie Roney, Benjamin Roney, Thomas Roney, Amy Roney, Samuel Roney, Isaiah Roney, Jimmy Lynch, Stacy (& Blaine) Coleman, Jared (& Katie) Lynch; great grandchildren, Kaley Roney, Devihn Lindsay, Sophia Moore, Alex and Andrew Northrup, Kearstin and Trevor Holland, Sydney Cash, Hayden and Eli Cash, Charley and Laney Horton, Trenton, Tessa, and Toree Roney, Morgan and Lauren Brewer, Isabella Rasnick, Kailey Manley, Carley Coleman, Grace and Lane Lynch; step-grandchildren, Misty and Jerad Drumheller; step-great-grandchildren, Mason and Logan Northrup. She is also survived by a brother, Garrett (& Ethel) Blankenship and a sister, Adeline (Blankenship) Holzmacher. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday at 9 AM with a chapel service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Barton officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the United Way of St. Francois County.
