We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Claudia Ruth Bleckler, 79, of Bonne Terre, a loving wife, devoted mother, and Grandma. Claudia passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. Lukes’s Hospital in Chesterfield MO. She was born in Leadington, on Saturday, September 22, 1945. Claudia was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Farmington.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Thomas Burns and Ruth Ann (Willis) Hibbits; sisters, Bonnie Zobrisky, Wanda Burns.
Claudia lived a life devoted to service, having worked for many years as a Prison Sergeant at Bonne Terre Prison and former owner/operator of Hair Country beauty shop for 30 years. A proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, the American War Mothers Association, and a past member of the Easter Star, Claudia found joy and fulfillment in serving others, especially living as a devoted military wife and mother. In her spare time, Claudia found solace in her passion for gardening, tending to her flowers, and enjoying the great outdoors through camping and fishing. But above all, her greatest joy came from spending quality time surrounded by the love of her family, especially her two grandsons that brought her the most joy.
Claudia leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Larry Michael Bleckler; two sons, Larry “Michael” Bleckler II, Charles “David” Bleckler and wife Beth; two grandsons, Zachary David Bleckler and Ezra Michael Allen Bleckler; dear cousin, Eddie Willis; along with many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at C.Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. until service time of 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Greg McCord officiating. A private family procession will follow to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
May we find comfort in remembering the legacy of kindness, strength, and love that Claudia shared with all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
