Christopher Nicolas Armstrong was born on Saturday, September 5, 1998 in Grapevine, Texas to Christy (Armstrong) and Adam Kammerer. On April 22, 2002, Christopher became mysteriously ill, and after a year and a half of tests and hospital stays Christopher was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy with Encephalitis. On June 16, 2016, Christopher lost his battle with CIDP.

Christopher was appointed in 2008 as SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center Ambassador Child. During the years that followed until 2012, he assisted in raising a large amount of money for the hospital that helped with his fight against CIDP. Christopher was honored with the title of CMN of Greater St. Louis 2009 Ambassador representing SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center and went on to be the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital 2011 Champion representing the state of Missouri in Orlando, Florida and Washington D.C. Christopher spent many years as the spokesperson for Baskets of Hope, a charity that helped promote his devotional writings.

Christopher was an accomplished public speaker, writer, motivational speaker and avid racing fan. Everyone who knew Christopher was impressed by his drive, determination and perseverance. He lived his life by Ephesians 6:10, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”

Christopher is survived by his mother and step-father, Christy and Mark Lucas of Terre du Lac, Missouri; his maternal sister Cassandra; his maternal step-siblings Zachary and Amie; his father Adam Kammerer of Morning Sun, Iowa; his paternal siblings Justin, Rickey, Jessica, Cheyenne and Riley; his paternal step-sibling LeRoy; his maternal grandparents Roger and Colleen Armstrong of Burlington, Iowa; his maternal aunt and uncle Erin and Balam Hernandez of Carlsbad, California and cousin Cuauh; his maternal great-grandmother Anna Armstrong of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Dianna Kammerer or Morning Sun, Iowa; his paternal uncle and aunt, Mark and Ang Kammerer of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparent: James and Alice Mullahy, Roderick Armstrong, and his paternal great-grandparents: James and Eunice Parkhurst, Lewis and Louise Kammerer.

Christopher was cremated and a celebration of life party will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2016 with family and close friends. All condolences and memorials may be mailed to the care of Christy Lucas at 333 Rue Chambly, Bonne Terre, MO 63628. All financial contributions will be designated to outstanding medical expenses and funeral arrangements.
