Christene Barton

Christene Rhowena Barton, 100, of Wildwood, MO passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Wednesday, May 28, 1924, to the late Colbert Alvin & Elocia (Harmon) Ferrell. 
 
In addition to her parents, Christene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lowell Leroy Barton; son, Verney F. Parton; grandson, Verney F. Parton, Jr.; sister, Willota Pruitt; brothers, Jessie, Harmon, Edward, Earl, Neal Ray, Glen and Troy Ferrell.
 
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Parton; grandchildren, Jeffery Porter, Christine Parton; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Ann Voloski; great-great-grandchildren, Elijah, Everleigh, Elena Voloski-Thompson. 

Christene was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church. She had many talents and passions; she found solace in the pages of books, the intricate work of needlecraft, and the beauty of her blooming garden. Family meant everything to her, and she dedicated herself to her children, grandchildren, and the extended family who affectionately knew her as their special Aunt Crick.
 
Christene's warm and nurturing presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were touched by her kindness. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving relatives.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Mark McMullin officiating. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery in Bonne Terre, MO.
