Cheri Diane Fuson, 59, formerly of Farmington, passed away Thursday, March 10, at her home in Columbia, Missouri.

As she wished, a service will not be held. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16th, 6 - 8 pm at TAYLOR Funeral Service. Interment will be at the family's discretion in Hillview Memorial Gardens.

Cheri was born January 9, 1946, in St. Louis, MO., to Percy & Verna Mae Fuson, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her half-brothers, Harold & Benjamin Fuson, and her grandparents, Gordon and Mildred Woods.

Cheri spent her childhood in Farmington, MO., and attended Farmington Public Schools. She received a B.S. in Education from Southeastern MO State College in 1971, and in 1981, completed a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Missouri. During the 1970's she worked for Columbia Orthopedic Group and Columbia Eye Consultants, and began her teaching career in Madison, MO. In 1981, she joined Hallsville High School as Freshman English Teacher, where she remained until her retirement, February, 2005. Through the years, she was faculty advisor to the Speech teams, the Science Olympiad teams, the Thespian Club, and Sponsor of the National Honor Society. She especially loved working with students on school projects and social activities.

Cheri's greatest joys were her niece, Emily, and her Hallsville school life. The friendship and loyalty of her friends from her Farmington years sustained Cheri throughout her life and death.

Immediate survivors are her sister, Deedra Von Fange, of Wilmington, Delaware; her niece, Emily Von Fange, of Wilmington; a half-brother, Charles Fuson and wife, Lynn, of Nashville, TN, and his family; and her beloved cat, Willie.

Memorial donations are suggested to: Hallsville R-IV Schools, 421 East Highway 124, Hallsville, MO. 65255. A memorial will be established in Cheri's name.
