C. Wilburn “Diz” Horn passed away August 8, 2017, at Maplebrook in Farmington, at the age of 92. He was born in Desloge on November 1, 1924, to the late Montie T. and Bessie (Morris) Horn. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Ileana M. (Williams) Horn on March 21, 2015; sisters, Floriece LaBare (2004), Dorothy Arp (1999), Patricia Kolath (2003) and brother, Harold Horn (2002).
Diz was survived by his children, Jeffrey Allen (Tammy) Horn of Ohio, and Tina (Tracy) Ratcliff of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Diz was a member of the Desloge United Methodist Church, Past Master of Elvins-Ionic Masonic Lodge #154 AF&AM, member of York or American Rite, and Life Member VFW Post #2426. He served on the Board of Desloge Senior Apartments, Odd Fellows Cemetery Lot Owners Association, charter member of the old Desloge Kiwanis Club, and dabbled in genealogy. He retired in 1985 after 42 ½ years with St. Joe Minerals Corporation and subsidiary.
Friends are welcome at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. A Masonic service will be held at 10:30 AM. Pastor Pati Robertson will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be directed to Odd Fellow Cemetery or Desloge United Methodist Church.
