Charles Daniel Stephan, age 81, of Park Hills, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Country Meadows. He was born on March 15, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late John and Mary (Kelliey) Stephan. Charles proudly served our country in The United States Army. He was a great cook, loved bowling, going on trips, cracking jokes, very social and always worried about everyone else. Charles liked to be called Dan at home and was referred to as Charlie at the firehouse. He enjoyed rescuing and saving lives as a firefighter paramedic for 27 years. Charles worked with Jerry Lewis at the annual tele-a-thon and raised money for Backstoppers. Charles was also a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor for firemanship and first aid.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Charles is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eileen (Huff) Stephan; two daughters, Kathy Hunt and husband Steve, Amy Elizabeth Stephan; two grandchildren, Amanda Marie Lincoln and husband Timothy and Anthony Charles Callahan and fiancé Amber Dawn Pyeatt; great-grandchildren, Elsie Dawn, Alyssa Marie, Isabelle Faye Lincoln, Charles Gregory Callahan, Theodore Levi Pyeatt and Cecilia Mae Sue Pyeatt; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He fought hard up until the very end.
