Cassandra M Mccormick

Cassandra Michelle McCormick, age 24, passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2015 surrounded by family and loved ones. Cassandra (Sandy) was born to John and Janie McCormick on Dec. 20, 1990 in Palm Springs, California. She graduated from Oceanside High School in 2009 and received her BA in English from the University of Missouri -St. Louis in 2014. Sandy was an artist. She enjoyed painting, drawing and writing poetry. She was featured in several plays at Mineral Area College in Missouri and at different theaters throughout Southern California. Sandy was an avid traveler. She loved exploring new places and meeting new people. Sandy's recent trips include Spain and Costa Rica. Sandy enjoyed helping people. She worked at Mother Goose Day Care and helped organize programs for international students at the University of Missouri -St. Louis International House. Sandy loved to read and always had a new book in her hand. Through reading she was able to visit many different worlds. Sandy is survived by: her mother Janie McCormick; her father John McCormick; her sister Christina McCormick; her cat Sophia; and every person who had the pleasure of meeting her from California to Costa Rica. A memorial mass will be 12:30 pm Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre. A luncheon and gathering will follow in the church basement.
