Carrol "Shorty" Parks

Carrol “Shorty” Parks passed away November 20, 2016 at his residence at the age of 82. He was born in St. Louis County, Missouri on May 11, 1934, to the late William and Wilma (Larrison) Parks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley (Gower) Parks; brothers, Hank, Benjamin and twin brother Harrol Parks; and sister-in-law, Dorthea “Dot” Moses.

Carrol is survived by his children, Tammy Clay, Tom (Stephanie) Parks, Cheryl (Robert) Stillwell; grandchildren, Chad (Summer) Halter, Christopher (Kristy) Halter, Sarah Clay, Jeremy (Ashley) Clay, Jennifer (Robin) Worthington, Alison Parks and Megan Parks; great-grandchildren, Reese Worthington, Madison and Sadie Clay, Claire, Vaughn, Gwen, Mercy and Judah Halter, Carter and Kendra Halter. Carrol is also survived by one sister, Edith Miller of Minnesota. He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews.

Carrol will be remembered by his family and friends for being a selfless man who always put others before himself. He enjoyed raising cattle and exotic animals, which many community members enjoyed coming to see. Putting smiles on others faces was something that he thrived on doing.

Carrol will be deeply missed by those who took care of him during his courageous battle with MDS.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23,2016 at 11 a.m.  at C.Z. Boyer and Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. View obituary and share condolences online at www.www.czboyer.com
