Carla Terene Covrig, age 63, of Bonne Terre, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at Mercy Jefferson in Festus. She was born on April 25, 1961, in Jerome, Idaho to the late Orval and Carlene (Duffy) Jones. Carla was a woman of grace and elegance, confidently navigating her life and the world around her. As a planner and a leader, she approached every challenge with patience and dedication. Her culinary skills were admired by many, and she found joy in sharing her delicious creations with family and friends.
Outside of work, Carla enjoyed anything outside rather it be boating, canoeing, camping or just reading a good murder mystery novel. Proud of her Irish heritage, Carla grew up in a small Idaho town where she cultivated her strong work ethic in the restaurant industry in management roles and as a lead chef. While in Idaho, she met her husband David who was working with Union Pacific Railroad. David’s work transferred him to Missouri where they made their home in Terre Du Lac for over twenty years. Carla worked at U.S. Tool in Farmington for ten years while working various other jobs. Carla’s industrious spirit inspired those around her, especially her beloved children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother, Carlene Jones-Lawson; father, Orvil Jones; and her loving husband of 33 years, David Eugene Covrig.
Carla was a strong and supportive mother to Shannon Bullock, Jason Lang and wife Stacy, Jeremy Covrig and wife Melissa; adoring grandmother to Kellie Lang, Regan Covrig, Mikey Covrig, Zachery Raymond, Courtney Raymond and Jax Maughan; sister to Gary (Laurie) Jones, Mila Jones, Crysta Hall-Ward and Andy (Jennifer) Hall.
