Carl Howard Hinds

            Carl Hinds, 75, of Desloge, passed away Septmeber 10, 2016 at his residence.  He was born on July 10, 1941 in Aurora, IL, to the late Howard H. and Opal (Swait) Hinds. Carl was a member of The Congregational United Church of Christ and proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in real estate for the last 20 years.  Carl was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as District Commissioner for several years and was a Wood Badge recipient.     

            Carl is survived by his wife, Linda (Brauer) Hinds; children, Heidi Lynn Fortier and her husband (Michael) of California; Brent Christopher Hinds and his wife Trish of O’Fallon and grandchildren, Macie Rae and Logan Christopher Hinds. 

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, September 16, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with funeral services starting at 7:00 PM with Rev. Sally Ketterer officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Grandchildren Scholarship Fund.
