Calvin Milburn, 89, of Bismarck passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 4, 1935, in Minimum, Missouri, to the late Arthur Marvin and Rachel Artimissa (Russell) Milburn. Calvin was a member of the Elvins Baptist Church in Park Hills. He started his career as a paper carrier for The Daily Journal, later he became a linotype operator. Calvin also worked for Nordman Printing, and The Globe-Democrat in St. Louis. Eventually, he retired from The Glass Factory in Park Hills, as a maintenance worker in I.S. Repair.
Calvin’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, traveling, riding rollercoasters, spending time on his land, but most of all, enjoying his family time.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 69 years, Birdie Joanne (Pinkston) Milburn; loving father to his children, Bruce Milburn, Rev. Bryan Milburn and wife Tammy, Lisa Wortham and Heather Hedrick; adoring grandpa of Megan, Whitney, Ethan, Stephanie, Tyler, Olivia, Brittany, Jordan and Landon; and great grandpa to, Chloe, Zoey, Jaylynn, Jaxon, Millie, Uriah and Raelynn; bonus son, John Revelle.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, September 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Pastor Jeff Babb will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Bond and Rev. Bryan Milburn. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be directed in honor of Calvin’s memory to Elvins Baptist Church or Heart and Soul Hospice.
