With aching hearts & teary eyes, we want to share with you, the unexpected passing of Brandon Joseph Klinkhardt. He is better known to his buddies, friends and acquaintances as ‘Klink’. Klink passed away on February 16, 2025, at his home at the young age of 43. He was born October 9, 1981, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Klink spent his post Farmington High School years working at the St. Francois Country Club doing maintenance on the greens working under his long-term mentor Doug Barnhart. Klink then proceeded to do a 2-year stent of commercial harvesting with Kulhanek Harvesting going from Texas to North Dakota. Ater his harvesting experience, ‘Boone’ Miller, a close friend to Klink, shared an adventure that took them both to Colorado to build a barn where Klink was invited to stay with Terry Davis & his family for nearly a year. Klink then got to experience mountain lion hunts, riding mules in the Colorado mountains & doing construction work. This past summer he worked as the greenskeeper at Beaver Valley Golf Course in Fredericktown, MO & had plans of returning this year. Brandon was always humbled with the compliments he received on the condition of the course. In between all his adventures, if all else failed, he would work with his dad (Jim Klinkhardt) with Goggins Drilling.
Brandon was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, trapping, fishing, golfing, skiing and snowmobiling. He loved working on the pit crew at the St. Francois County Raceway and always enjoyed watching the World of Outlaws in Festus, MO from the elevated seat of his customed golfcart. He was good with his hands and was thought of as a farmer without a farm, but he was never without acreage because of Gibson’s, Boone Miller, or Ottoline’s as well as many others. He was also an active member of the Farmington Elks 1765 for many years.
Klink was always quick to help anyone in need, never asking for payment. He loved going with his grandparents (Lonnie & Ollieann Goggins) on mission trips where they would help build churches & do endless projects around Table Rock Lake. His greatest joy was his niece and nephews, to whom he will be fondly remembered as “Uncle Harry” or “Crazy Uncle Brandon.”
Klink leaves behind his loving parents, Jim & Jane (Goggins) Klinkhardt; one brother, Matthew Klinkhardt (Julie); niece and nephews, Johnathan, Madison & Jackson that he considered his own; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially Arlin Ludwig who was like a second father.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lonnie & Ollieann Goggins; paternal grandparents, Walter & Clara Klinkhardt; one Uncle, Elroy Brady; one Aunt, Pam Klinkhardt; & two mentor’s Boone Miller & Doug Barnhart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Francois Country Club on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from Noon until 4:00 PM. **The family asks that in lieu of flowers there is a scholarship being set up at Mineral Area College for a vocational trade set up in Brandon’s name.** Please share your favorite memory or story of Brandon as a guestbook entry. Arrangements were under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
