           William Gene “Bill” Pratt, 89, of Farmington passed away April 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 26, 1931 in Farmington. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Calvary Church of Fredericktown and was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge #132 of Farmington.

        

             After returning home from the service, Bill married his first wife, Sarah. They raised two beautiful daughters together before her death in 1986. Bill spent his working career as a maintenance supervisor at Puritan Fashions, a maintenance foreman at Pilot Knob Pellet Co., and a supervisor of the tool shop at the AMAX Lead Co. He retired as the assistant personnel director at Flat River Glass. Bill went on to meet the second love of his life, Bonnie. They were incredibly blessed to spend their marriage enjoying traveling and spending time with grandchildren. Their travels took them all across the United States and to 8 different countries. Thousands of miles of their travels were spent on Bills motorcycle earning him the honor of Motorcyclist of the year with the Goldwing Road Riders Association. Over 8 years of life together was spent making and delivering quilts to children at St. Jude’s Hospital. Bill loved all adventures of his life and praised God daily for all his many blessings.


            He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland “Polly” Pratt and Bertha (Henderlite) Pratt; late wife, Sarah (Reeves) Pratt; four sisters, Mary Holub, Doris Thurman, Glenda McDaniel  and Wanda Lamprecht.


           Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Brunk) Hasty Pratt; four children, Cynthia (Dennis) Dement, Paula (Mike) Waltman, David (Kathy) Hasty, Marilyn (Pat) Hasty; five grandchildren, Greg (Crystal) Dement, Mike (Sarah) Dement, Jake (Gabrielle) Hasty, Miranda Hasty, Austin Hasty; two great-grandchildren, Megan Dement and Tristan Stotler.

 

Visitation will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm with a masonic service at 7:30 pm. Funeral service will be 10 am on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington with Rev. Randy Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
