Betty "Lu" Godin

            Betty Godin, 88, of Bonne Terre, formerly of Edwardsville, IL passed away July 9, 2020 at her residence. She was born July 19, 1931, in Irondale, to the late Louis Webster and Minnie Belle (Berry) Lashley. Betty attended Bonne Terre Church of God and worked for Mallinkrodt and retired after 40 years. She enjoyed fishing, singing, playing cards, cooking, animals, loved visiting the nursing homes and taking them candy.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Edward Godin; son, James Wood; and several brothers and sisters.

            Betty is survived by her daughter, Michelle Waller and fiancé John Thompson; grandchildren, Kayla (Bryan) Neyman, Jason Wood and Michael Wood; one great-grandson, Carter Neyman; siblings, Gene Lashley and Betty Dugal; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

            Betty’s family would like to greatly thank Serenity Hospice for the care they gave to Betty and the help they gave to the family. Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice at 5272 Flat River Rd. Park Hills, MO 63601, in Betty’s memory.

            There will be a celebration of life, Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 6870 Dakota Dr. in Bonne Terre, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home.
