Betty Forsythe

Betty Ann Forsythe, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away Community Manor on December 31, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on September 11, 1931, in Flat River, Missouri, to the late Joel Hardy and Bertha Ann (Lander) Koen Sr.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren D. Forsythe; great-grand daughter Bailey Judd, two brothers, Robert Koen and Hardy Koen J.; and three sisters, Lorene Ragsdale, Mary McLeod, and Lucille Weiss

Betty worked as a manager for the Navy Exchange Store for many years. She spent her time serving the city of Farmington as a member of the Farmington City Council. She found solitude in her art work. She loved to paint, crochet, needle point, making ornaments and afghan blankets. Her advice was often sought after by those in need. 

Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Pattie Smith and husband Dennis; her devoted son, Terry Forsythe; and her cherished grandchildren, Kristina Mashi, Brandee Boyce, Jacob Smith, Sara (Tyler) Brewer, Justin (Sam) Forsythe, Kristen (Douglas) Moon, and Lexi (Chris) Pullen; 15 great-grandchildren, Karina, Lauren, Olivia and Nathan Mashi, Meghan and Elena Judd, Virginia Lugo (Joseph Pietruszewski) and Olivia Lugo, Houston Brewer, Evan, Mason and Warren Dale Forsythe, Brock, Collin and Cooper Moon; along with several nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at her daughter Pattie’s home beginning at 4:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home- Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Memorials may be made in Betty’s honor to Community Manor in Farmington.
