Bessie Gowen-Brooks

Bessie Gowen - Brooks, 84,of Bonne Terre passed away July 28, 2013 at Kindred Hospital of St. Anthonys. She was born February 15, 1929 in Bonne Terre to the late Clinton "Ike" and Grace Mae (Parks) Steinmetz. Also preceding in death is her first husband Alvie David Gowen; second husband, Ted Brooks; brother, Clinton Steinmetz; sister, Jessie Bennett.Bessie was member of the Jehovahs Witness Kingdom Hall, she was a longtime volunteer for the helping hands. Bessie is survived by nine children, Linda Webb, William (Shirley) Gowen, Patsy Steinmetz, Margie (Raymond) DeClue, Vernon (Sharon) Gowen, Jeannie (Jim) Beard, Sharon (Clarence) Johns, Randall (Priscillia) Gowen, Daniel Gowen; twenty seven grandchildren; eighty two great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday July 31, 2013 from 4 to 9 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Interment will be held at later date at the Walker Branch Cemetery.
