Bernice Helms

Bernice Helms age 97 of Leadwood passed away February 19, 2013 at Country Meadows.She was born May 22, 1915 to the late William Henry and Emma Elizabeth (Lewis) Crump in Leadwood.She is also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Luther Helms; brother, Melvin Crump; step-mother, Mattie (Simmons) Crump; and son in-law, Kermit Mosier Jr.Bernice was a member of the Wortham Church of God for over 70 years. At the time of her passing she was the oldest living member of the church.Bernice is survived by her sister, Opaline Brewster of Leadwood; son, Arnold Helms of Fordsville, Ky.; daughter, Ruth Ann Mosier of Leadwood; grandchildren, DeLaine (Tim) Caldwell, David Helms, Bill Helms; great-grandchildren, Lora (Alan) Barton, Joel (Renee) Hulsey, Meagan Caldwell and fianc Justin, Angel LaPlant; six Great-Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday February 22, 2013 from 3 to 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday February 23, 2013 at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev. Steve Stillman officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.
