Bernadette Rita Paul

Bernadette Rita Paul, age 99, of St. Augustine, Florida, originally of St. Louis and Bonne Terre, Missouri, passed away on April 10, 2015 at the Samantha R. Wilson Care Center at Bayview Nursing Home in St. Augustine. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Bernadette graduated from St Joseph Academy in St. Louis. In 1933, she met her husband to be, Raymond Paul. They were married in 1939, and lived in Bonne Terre, MO, where Dr. Paul worked as a Dentist and they raised their family. After his death in 1976, Bernadette stayed in Bonne Terre before relocating to St. Augustine, FL, in 1992, where she has since resided. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and she was also an active member of the Legion of Mary in St. Augustine. Above all, Bernadette will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Raymond F. Paul. She is survived by her sons, Jack Paul, and his wife, Claudia, of St. Augustine, and Robert Paul of Decatur, GA; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Paul of Chicago, IL and Bernadette Demitz, and her husband, Sherwood, of Bethesda, MD; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral mass was held at 9:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A local visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bonne Terre.
