Bearl D. Pettus

Rev. Bearl D. Pettus, 94 of Bonne Terre, passed away February 8, 2013 at his home. He was born to the late Dan and Lela (Pratte) Pettus July 29, 1918 in Bonne Terre. Also preceding him in death were his wife of over fifty years Bernice (White) Pettus; two brothers Beauford Pettus and Virgil Pettus; and three sisters Thelma Yarbrough, Faye Green, and Fern Whitmore. He was a Southern Baptist minister who presented a straight forward message winning souls for Jesus Christ for almost sixty years.Rev. Pettus is survived by his son Robert Durwood Pettus of Bonne Terre; two granddaughters Deanna Boggs of Lebanon and Laurie Pettus of Bonne Terre; four great-grandchildren Brittany, Megan, Lance, and Morgan; two sisters Glenda (Mrs. Ken) Byington, and Virgie Morris; two brothers Ferrall Pettus and wife Nancy and Dallam Pettus and wife Grace all of Bonne Terre. Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 9:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Rev. Ron Poole and Rev. Bud Snyder officiating.Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
