Barbara Martin

Mrs. Barbara Walker Martin passed away March 11, 2014, at her residence at the age of 60 years, 1 month & 4 days. Barbara was born Feb. 7, 1954, in Fredericktown, & was the daughter of John Walker & Dorothy 'Weston' Walker. Also preceding in death were: 2 brothers, David & Steve Walker.

Barb was married to Jerry Martin on Feb. 25, 1972, at Pendleton United Baptist Church. They spent 22 years in the Air Force, traveling to many bases in the US, Greece, Okinawa, Japan & Guam. While in the Air Force they learned Scuba Diving & Photography. They also enjoyed camping & hiking. Barb worked at Kroger in Flat River for several years, as well as being a homemaker. Her love for her family was foremost in her life. Gardening was her passion & she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed cake decorating. Barb was a member of Pendleton United Baptist Church of Doe Run, since 1971.

Survivors Include: her husband, Jerry Martin, of Doe Run. A daughter, Carla Denton-Martin, of Elizabethton, TN. 5 Grandchildren: Brandon (Boo); Samantha (Sami-AM); Austin (Aussie); Kathryn (KT) & Daytona (Walker), all of Elizabethton, TN. 5 Sisters: Linda (& Kenneth) Lawrence, of Bismarck; Brenda (& Danny) Lunsford, of Farmington; Kathy (& Wade) Jones, of Park Hills; Sharon (& David) Wheeler, of Olathe, KS; Janice Guerrero-Walker, of Farmington. 2 Brothers: Anthony (& Martha) Walker, of Farmington; Pete (& Robin) Walker, of DeSoto.

Visitation Starts : Friday @ 2:00 p.m.

Funeral Service : Friday, 6:00 p.m., March 14, 2014

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Pastor Tim Morgan officiating

Interment follows at a later date at : Pendleton Cemetery, Doe Run
