Barbara Hunter

Barbara Jean (Davis) Hunter, 78 of Desloge, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 6, 2012 while receiving care at Parkland Health Center.She was born September 29, 1933 to Reuben I. Davis and Beulah May Davis of Mtn. View in West Plains. Barbara was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, her parents, and one sister, Peggy Howard of Farmington.She was united in marriage on June 25, 1955 to Reverend Edwin A. Hunter of Centerville.To this union one son was born, June 15, 1959, Davis A. Hunter, of Desloge.He is a Registered Pharmacist with Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Fredericktown.Barbara often referred to her son, Davis, as her pride and joy.How she did love husband Edwin and son Davis. Barbara received her degrees in Business Education and Secondary Education from the University of Missouri and her Masters Degree from Webster University.She taught third grade at Central Elementary School of the North County School District for 29 years. Visitation will be under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home of Desloge from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 9, 2012 with the Memorial Service following immediately in the Chapel at 1:00 PM.Interment will be held at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be made to Delassus First Baptist Church in her honor.The Reverend Charles Shrum will be officiating the service. Barbara was truly loved by all who knew her, and will be sorely missed by all whose life she touched.
